What is value analysis?
Value analysis is the process of evaluating the worth or significance of various elements, features or vehicle components. It involves assessing the benefits, cost and overall value proposition of a specific vehicle against its closest market competitors.
The analysis is used to inform product strategy and determine the changes needed to improve the product positioning within the market place.

Why do I need value analysis?
If you’re involved in product strategy, positioning or promotion, you know how hard it is to keep track of market changes – whether it’s keeping up with your competitors’ moves or changing consumer preferences and expectations.
For almost 30 years, JATO have been helping our customers make the most of available market opportunities and our value analysis process has been an integral part of this journey. Introducing value analysis specific to the finance market is the next logical step.

How does value analysis work with Monthly Payments data?
The principles of the analysis don’t change. However, the finance aspect adds additional layer of complexity to the process. Taking into consideration (amongst other things) deposit contributions, contract lengths, APR, annual mileage, final payments, and more we’re able to determine the total cost of contract of a vehicle. This figure is then offset by insurance value, product, and service packs and, eventually, additional incentives such as OEM allowances or government contributions.
Overall, value analysis with Monthly Payments data gives you a clear picture of how your product compares against competition in your chosen market segment, and how it's likely to be be perceived by potential customers when they shortlist vehicles ahead of their next purchase.
